Are Female Preaching Staffs Biblical?
Are female preaching staffs prohibited by the Holy Bible? That is a question being dealt with by many of the Baptist denomination faithful today. There are, in my opinion, some who are “stretching” the terms “prophesying” and “preaching” to make them the same, equal, or, to say what they want them to mean. After doing a little research on the internet regarding the subject, as evidenced below, I went to, in my opinion, the authority on the subject – the Holy Bible.
The Bible speaks in very explicit language concerning this subject. In my opinion, the current and previous efforts to take exception to the explicit prohibitions and consequences, presented below from the Bible, indicates a lack of objective truth concerning the subject. This leads to concern about other compromising treatment of Biblical instruction. It is hard to understand why those who ignore the explicit language below, seemingly have no restraint from accepting those Biblical passages where understanding depends on interpretation of vague scripture.
The New Testament designates only two offices within the church: elders (also called bishops, pastors or shepherds in Scripture) and deacons (Phil. 1:1). Reference “The Jeremiah Study Bible, NKJV, page 1496, and The Office of Deacon, Acts 6:1-7.
How do Female Preaching Staffs and Prophesying Differ?
The following is one answer from a source on the internet:
My understanding is that prophecy is not identical to preaching, but involves both forthtelling and foretelling. The reason women may prophesy but not teach or preach to men is that the message that the prophet gets from God is not filtered through the interpretive process—that is, it is directly mediated by the Spirit. Hence, in effect, prophecies are ‘tamper-proof,’ whereas teaching is not (cf. 1 Tim 2:12-14). From: What is the Difference Between Prophesying and Preaching? | Bible.org
